Prime Video sets June 12 premiere for crime thriller Raakh
Sonali Bendre, Ali Fazal and Aamir Bashir lead investigative drama.
MUMBAI: Some secrets disappear. Others leave a trail of ashes. Prime Video has locked June 12 as the global premiere date for Raakh, an investigative crime drama that dives into the darker corners of human behaviour, blending a relentless manhunt with a psychological exploration of guilt, trauma and moral ambiguity. Directed and executive produced by Prosit Roy, the series has been created, written and co-directed by Anusha Nandakumar and Sandeep Saket, with dialogues by Ayush Trivedi. Produced by Endemol Shine India in association with BhaDiPa, Raakh will stream across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
At the centre of the story is a chilling mystery. When two teenagers vanish without a trace, a close-knit family is torn apart and an entire city is gripped by fear. As pressure mounts, an investigating officer launches a nationwide hunt for answers, only to find himself pulled into a labyrinth of violence, obsession and human depravity.
Leading the cast is Ali Fazal, who plays the determined officer at the heart of the investigation. He is joined by Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir, both of whom play pivotal roles in a narrative that promises as much emotional weight as suspense.
Unlike conventional crime dramas that race towards neat conclusions, Raakh appears more interested in examining what lies beneath the surface. The series explores how tragedy reshapes lives, how justice can blur into obsession, and how the pursuit of truth often comes at a personal cost.
For Prime Video, the launch adds another dark and layered thriller to its growing originals slate. The platform has increasingly leaned into crime-driven storytelling, but Raakh distinguishes itself by focusing not just on the mystery, but on the psychological fallout surrounding it.
With six lead creative voices behind it and a cast anchored by seasoned performers, the series arrives at a time when audiences are showing a growing appetite for character-led investigative dramas. Whether viewers come for the suspense or stay for the emotional complexity, Raakh is positioning itself as a thriller that lingers long after the final clue is uncovered.
When the screen lights up on June 12, audiences won’t just be chasing a missing-person case, they’ll be stepping into a world where every answer uncovers a darker question.
