MUMBAI: The tides of revenge are about to hit shore, and in Isakapatnam, every wave seems to carry a secret, a rivalry or a score waiting to be settled. Prime Video has announced 2 July as the global premiere date for its upcoming Telugu original series Isakapatnam, a gritty crime thriller that dives deep into a world of gangster rivalries, political intrigue and family feuds.

Set in a fictional port town where power is traded as fiercely as loyalty, the series promises a heady mix of revenge, ambition and betrayal. Directed by Garry BH, written by Prashant Ragathi with dialogues by Tajuddin Syed, the series is produced by Rahul Tamada and Saideep Reddy Borra under the banner of Tamada Media Productions.

Leading the cast are Samuthirakani and Aishwarya Rajesh, supported by an ensemble that includes Sunil, Naresh Agastya, Merin Philip, Sudhakar Komakula, Rajeev Kanakala, Mime Gopi, Rohini, Banerjee, Jwala Koti, Ravi Varma and Raja Chembolu.

At its heart, Isakapatnam is a story about the personal cost of power. While the backdrop is filled with criminal empires and political manoeuvring, the narrative is anchored in themes of loss, loyalty and fractured relationships, giving the series emotional depth beneath its action-packed surface.

The show will stream exclusively on Prime Video in Telugu, with dubbed versions available in Tamil and Hindi, alongside subtitles in 15 languages, including English. It will be available across India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The launch further strengthens Prime Video’s growing South Indian originals slate, which has increasingly become a key driver of viewership both domestically and internationally. Regional stories with strong cultural roots continue to find audiences far beyond their home markets, reflecting the growing global appetite for Indian-language content.

What sets Isakapatnam apart is its immersive setting. The creators have invested heavily in recreating a believable port-town ecosystem, using the location not merely as a backdrop but as a living, breathing character that shapes the conflicts unfolding within it.

The series also joins Prime Video’s broader entertainment line-up around Amazon Prime Day, which returns to India for its 10th edition this July.

For viewers, however, the bigger attraction may be the brewing storm at the centre of Isakapatnam. With gang wars, political power plays and family loyalties colliding in a volatile coastal town, the series appears set to deliver a drama where no alliance is permanent and every calm sea hides an approaching tempest.

When Isakapatnam docks on Prime Video on 2 July, audiences can expect a voyage into a world where revenge is currency and power comes with a heavy price.
