Prime Video sets 1 October premiere for Dupahiya season two
Gajraj Rao and Renuka Shahane return as Dinesh Lal Yadav joins the ensemble cast
MUMBAI: Dhadakpur is getting its two wheeler back, and this time the ride comes with more chaos, bigger challenges and another dose of small town madness. Prime Video has announced 1 October 2026 as the worldwide premiere date for season two of its Hindi Original comedy drama Dupahiya. The series will stream exclusively on Prime Video across India and more than 240 countries and territories.
Set in the fictional village of Dhadakpur, the new season returns to the quirky world introduced in the first instalment, where innocence, everyday troubles and comic mayhem collide. The catch this time is that Dhadakpur is no longer crime free, giving its residents a fresh set of problems to navigate.
Sonam Nair returns as director, while Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani are the creators and producers under the banner of Bombay Film Cartel LLP. Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg have created and written the series.
The returning ensemble includes Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma. Joining the cast for season two is Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua.
For Prime Video, the return of Dupahiya follows the response to its first season. Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals (SVOD), Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios India, said the series connected with audiences and that its characters became part of everyday conversations. He credited the creative team’s writing and vision for building the world of Dhadakpur and said the new season would bring back its characters with fresh chaos, challenges and twists.
The creators are also taking the story beyond its rural setting. Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani said the series uses rural India as its backdrop but centres on big dreams colliding with everyday chaos, with humour emerging from the situations that follow. They added that the second season will balance its comedy with emotional and heartwarming moments.
With its return, Dupahiya is keeping its small town wheels turning while widening the road ahead and Dhadakpur looks set for another bumpy, but decidedly entertaining, ride.
