New Delhi: It’s game on once again. NODWIN Gaming has announced the return of the BGMI Masters Series Season 5, with the country’s flagship Battlegrounds Mobile India competition set to run from August 10 to September 6, featuring 24 teams battling over four weeks.

Now in its fifth season, the tournament introduces a refreshed competition format that rewards consistency throughout the event, with every match contributing towards a team’s progress to the championship.

The tournament will open with League Week 1 from August 10 to 13, followed by Bounty Weekend from August 14 to 16. League Week 2 will run from August 17 to 20 before teams compete in Super Weekend 1 from August 21 to 23.

The final League Week is scheduled from August 24 to 27, followed by Super Weekend 2 from August 28 to 30. The competition will then move into the Playoffs from August 31 to September 2, before concluding with the Grand Finals from September 4 to 6, where the Season 5 champion will be crowned.

NODWIN Gaming, co-founder and managing director, Akshat Rathee said, “Five seasons ago, BGMS began with a simple ambition, to give Indian esports a stage that matched the passion and competitive talent within the community.”

He added that the Indian esports ecosystem has evolved significantly, with players building longer careers, teams becoming stronger organisations and fan engagement deepening. Rathee said Season 5 represents another step forward in that journey and will bring another month of top-tier competition featuring the country’s leading BGMI teams and players.

The tournament returns as India’s gaming market continues to expand. According to the India State of Play 2026 report by Naavik, the country’s mobile gaming market generated more than $1 billion in combined revenue during 2025 and is projected to reach around $1.5 billion in 2026. The report also noted that shooter games account for 43 per cent of India’s in-app purchase revenue, with battle royale titles continuing to drive player engagement and spending.

Since its launch, the BGMI Masters Series has grown into one of India’s leading competitive platforms for Battlegrounds Mobile India, bringing together established professionals and emerging talent. NODWIN Gaming said the tournament continues to strengthen connections between players, teams and millions of esports fans through evolving competitive formats and a growing broadcast presence.

Further details, including the participating teams, prize pool, broadcast schedule and complete tournament format, will be announced closer to the event.
