Kuku TV launches Sabse Bada Dramebaaz with 2,000-plus auditions
50-episode microdrama reality series to crown two winners with Rs 5 lakh and lead roles
MUMBAI: Drama is getting a two-minute makeover. Kuku TV has launched Sabse Bada Dramebaaz, a 50-episode acting reality series built around the platform’s vertical microdrama format, combining a nationwide talent hunt with scripted storytelling in episodes of around two minutes.
Co-presented with Meesho and powered by Tinder, the series began with a nationwide audition drive that attracted more than 2,000 entries. Kuku TV said the auditions generated crores of views and lakhs of audience votes, with the 100 entries receiving the highest number of votes moving to the next stage.
Kuku TV microdrama actors Eshaanya Maheshwari and Siddharth Sharma then selected 11 finalists from the shortlisted pool. A 12th contestant entered through a wildcard route via the Meesho Creator Club, taking the total number of finalists to 12.
The finalists subsequently faced four offline rounds in Mumbai in front of a live audience. The judging panel featured actor Rakesh Bedi alongside actors and digital personalities Jannat Zubair and Prince Narula.
Rather than sticking to a single flavour of performance, the competition moves across romance, action, comedy, suspense and drama, folding conventional reality-show elements into Kuku TV’s short-form storytelling format.
The first three rounds, spanning nearly 30 episodes, are currently streaming on the Kuku TV app. The Grand Finale is scheduled to release on 15 August 2026, when the competition will name two winners — one male and one female.
The winners will each receive a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, along with an opportunity to play a lead role in an upcoming Kuku TV microdrama. The prize therefore goes beyond the cheque, giving the winners a direct route into the platform’s scripted content ecosystem.
The show also brings together brands from entertainment, commerce and dating. Meesho is participating through its creator ecosystem, while Tinder has partnered with Kuku TV following their earlier collaboration on the microdrama Right Match.
Meesho said its creator community has more than 5 lakh members, with the Meesho Creator Club offering creators opportunities to build audiences and access commercial opportunities.
Kuku TV, meanwhile, said its wider creator ecosystem includes more than 50,000 creators. Sabse Bada Dramebaaz marks another attempt by the platform to blend audience participation, creator discovery and microdrama into a single format.
With 12 finalists, 50 episodes and performances compressed into roughly two-minute bursts, Kuku TV is betting that the next big acting break may not need a two-hour runtime — just enough drama to stop the scroll.
