Instagram lets users showcase tagged posts directly on profile grids

MUMBAI: Instagram is giving users more control over their profile grids with a new feature that lets them add posts they are tagged in directly to their main profile.

The feature allows users to bring group photos, creator collaborations and other shared memories to the forefront of their profiles, without needing to upload the content themselves.

Users can add a tagged post to their main grid in three ways. They can do it from the direct message notification received when they are tagged, through the three-dot menu on a tagged post, or by pressing and holding a post in the Tagged tab.

Once added, tagged posts will appear on the main profile grid in reverse-chronological order by default. Users who have reordered their grid can continue to manage the placement of posts according to their preferred layout.

The feature also gives users flexibility after adding a post. A tagged post can be removed from the main grid at any time without deleting the original post or removing it from the user’s Tagged tab.

The update is part of Instagram’s broader push to give users greater control over how their profiles look and which moments they choose to showcase, particularly as profiles increasingly serve as curated spaces for personal memories and creator collaborations.
