Drishyam 3, I Will Find You lead this week’s OTT release lineup
Thrillers, mysteries and comedies dominate streaming slate across platforms.
MUMBAI: If your watchlist has been looking a little too tidy lately, this week’s OTT releases are here to shake things up. From prison breaks and kidnappings to espionage, murder mysteries and laugh-out-loud marital chaos, streaming platforms are serving up a buffet of suspense, intrigue and comedy.
Leading the charge are Mohanlal’s much-awaited Drishyam 3 and Netflix’s latest Harlan Coben adaptation I Will Find You, but they’re far from the only reasons viewers may find themselves cancelling weekend plans.
At the heart of this week’s slate is a clear trend: audiences cannot seem to get enough mysteries. Netflix’s I Will Find You follows David Burroughs, a man serving a life sentence for allegedly murdering his son. Just when his future appears sealed, fresh evidence suggests the child may still be alive. What follows is a high-stakes escape, an FBI pursuit and a tangled web of family secrets. Starring Sam Worthington, Britt Lower and Milo Ventimiglia, the eight-episode series continues Netflix’s successful relationship with bestselling thriller writer Harlan Coben.
Meanwhile, in India, one of the country’s most beloved crime franchises returns to screens. Drishyam 3 sees Mohanlal reprise his role as Georgekutty, the seemingly ordinary family man whose extraordinary ability to stay one step ahead of investigators has captivated audiences for years. Following a successful theatrical run, the latest chapter arrives on Prime Video, bringing fresh twists, renewed investigations and new threats to a story that refuses to stay buried.
Crime and suspense continue with Aliya Basu Gayab Hai, a kidnapping thriller that quickly evolves beyond a conventional ransom drama. As motives shift and loyalties blur, viewers are left questioning who is truly pulling the strings.
For those who prefer their action with a side of humour, Korean comedy-thriller Husbands In Action offers an unusual partnership. After a drug lord’s associates kidnap his ex-wife, a narcotics detective is forced to team up with her current husband, a veterinarian whose skills are considerably better suited to animals than criminals. The result is a chaotic rescue mission packed with action and comedy.
Mystery fans also have Oasis on their radar. Set inside an exclusive luxury retreat, the series begins as an idyllic holiday before one guest disappears. With the resort locked down and suspicion spreading rapidly, paradise soon turns into a pressure cooker of secrets, accusations and hidden agendas.
Comedy, however, remains firmly on the menu. Telugu favourite Save The Tigers returns for a third season, once again following Ravi, Rahul and Vikram as they navigate the minefield of married life. This time, the series adds a fantasy twist, transporting the trio into alternate realities where their dream lives become reality with predictably hilarious consequences.
Elsewhere, viewers looking for stylish detective drama can dive into Sugar, where private investigator John Sugar uncovers dark secrets while searching for a missing woman. Spy thriller The Agency delivers international intrigue and shifting loyalties, while romantic drama Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar explores love, betrayal and class divides through the story of two young people fighting social expectations.
Looking ahead, Gram Chikitsalay is generating early buzz. Set in rural India, the series follows a doctor navigating village healthcare, local politics and community dynamics. With its blend of humour, warmth and small-town realism, it is already drawing comparisons to the charm that made Panchayat a streaming phenomenon.
The variety on offer reflects how OTT platforms continue to broaden their storytelling ambitions. Whether it’s Georgekutty plotting his next move, a father searching for the truth, spies navigating dangerous missions or three husbands stumbling through alternate realities, this week’s releases prove there is no shortage of reasons to reach for the remote.
For viewers, the toughest mystery may simply be deciding what to watch first.
