BGMI: Naye Khiladi heads to grand finals with top 16 teams locked in
Over 8,000 players battled through qualifiers as inaugural grassroots esports event reaches finale
NEW DELHI: The lobby is set and the final drop is moments away. BGMI: Naye Khiladi, the grassroots esports tournament organised by NODWIN Gaming and powered by KRAFTON India, has reached its grand finale, with the top 16 teams set to battle for the inaugural title and a share of the Rs 10 lakh prize pool.
The tournament, built around the #AbTeriBaari campaign, was launched to identify and nurture emerging talent in the Battlegrounds Mobile India ecosystem. More than 8,000 players registered for the competition, progressing through multiple qualification rounds to earn a place in the finals.
The Grand Finals will be held from 24 to 26 July, with the remaining 16 teams competing across 18 matches spread over three days. Six matches will be played each day across the Rondo, Erangel and Miramar maps, with placements and eliminations contributing to the overall standings.
The finalists are ESPORT SOCIAL, Troy Tamilan Esports, HEXVORA, Team Free Agents, 7Gods Esports, Reignite Esports, X4RCE, Zero Ark Official, BLD Esports, Aura X Esports, DCxSCR Esports, K9Esports, Thunder Gods Esports, Team ACS, Santa Godsent and Team ERA ESPORTS.
The tournament followed a multi-stage format. After the in-game qualification phase, the top 1,024 teams advanced to the first round before being narrowed to 256 teams in Round 2. The semi-finals featured the best 32 teams, with only 16 securing a place in the championship stage.
The winning team will be crowned the inaugural BGMI: Naye Khiladi champion after all 18 matches, taking home the largest share of the Rs 10 lakh prize pool.
Speaking about the tournament, NODWIN Gaming, co-founder and chief executive officer, Gautam Virk said, “When we launched BGMI: NAYE KHILADI, our goal was to create meaningful opportunities for aspiring players and provide a pathway for emerging talent to break into competitive esports.”
He added that the quality of competition had highlighted the depth of grassroots talent within India’s BGMI ecosystem and expressed confidence that the finalists had earned their place through consistency and skill.
All Grand Finals matches will be streamed live on NODWIN Gaming’s YouTube and KICK channels, allowing fans to follow the competition as India’s next generation of BGMI players compete for the inaugural crown.
With thousands of aspiring competitors reduced to just 16 teams, BGMI: Naye Khiladi enters its final stage as another sign of India’s expanding esports ecosystem, offering emerging players a pathway from grassroots competition to the national spotlight.
