MUMBAI: News travels fast, but some networks travel farther. Network18 has taken its digital news ambitions beyond India’s borders, emerging as the world’s largest digital news and information network by audience reach, according to the latest Comscore rankings.

Network18 has secured the top global position among digital news publishers, recording 376 million unique visitors in June 2026, according to Comscore’s MMX Multi-Platform rankings. The achievement marks a significant milestone for the Indian media company, placing it ahead of several established international news organisations.

The rankings show Times Internet Limited in second place with 347 million unique visitors, followed by NBCUniversal News Group with 316 million and Yahoo News Network with 294 million. The figures are based on Comscore’s Total Digital Population, including social platforms, for news and information publishers worldwide.

The latest ranking extends Network18’s leadership beyond India, where it has consistently dominated the digital news landscape. According to Comscore’s Total Digital Population Report for May 2026, the network reached around 360 million monthly users, accounting for 76 per cent of India’s digital news audience across owned and social platforms.

Its reach has also been amplified by growing consumption on third-party platforms. In June, Network18 recorded more than six billion YouTube views, nearly twice that of its closest competitor. During the most recent quarter, the network generated over 32 billion social media views, while its combined social media following expanded to more than 472 million followers, highlighting the growing importance of off-platform distribution in digital news.

The company’s scale is underpinned by a broad multilingual publishing network. Network18 currently operates 20 television channels in more than 12 languages and seven digital platforms across 13 languages, including CNN-News18, News18 India, CNBC-TV18, CNBC TV18 Prime, CNBC Awaaz, CNBC Bajar, 14 regional news channels, as well as digital brands such as News18.com, Moneycontrol, Firstpost, CNBCTV18.com and Storyboard18.

The latest Comscore rankings underscore a broader shift in the global news industry, where audience growth is increasingly being driven by digital, social and video platforms rather than traditional distribution. For Network18, the milestone reflects how an India-first news organisation has leveraged multilingual content, cross-platform publishing and creator-led distribution to build a global digital footprint in an increasingly competitive media landscape.
