MUMBAI: JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu has appointed Ankita Thakur as its new director of marketing, strengthening its leadership team as the luxury hotel looks to further enhance its brand presence and guest engagement.

Thakur brings more than a decade of experience in luxury hospitality marketing, with expertise spanning brand strategy, integrated marketing, communications, digital transformation, partnerships and destination-led storytelling across leading global hospitality brands.

In her new role, she will oversee the strategic direction of marketing for JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, leading brand positioning, public relations, integrated communications, digital marketing, content strategy, partnerships and guest engagement initiatives. She will also work on driving commercial growth and strengthening the hotel’s visibility in the competitive luxury hospitality market.

Before joining the Mumbai property, Thakur served as director of marketing and communications at JW Marriott Maldives Kaafu Atoll Island Resort, where she was part of the pre-opening leadership team. She led the resort’s global launch strategy, brand positioning, digital marketing initiatives, strategic partnerships and integrated communications as the property entered the market.

Her professional journey also includes marketing and communications roles with Raffles Maldives, Huvafen Fushi Maldives, Hyatt Regency Dharamshala, FashionTV and Hidesign. Across these organisations, she has developed brand-led marketing strategies aimed at strengthening customer engagement and supporting business growth.

Thakur has also earned industry recognition for her work, being named among the Top 25 Stars in Marketing & Communications across Asia, the Middle East and Africa in both 2021 and 2024. Her experience covers luxury brand marketing, integrated communications, digital strategy, media and influencer engagement, destination marketing and brand storytelling.

With Thakur’s appointment, JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu is looking to build on its reputation as one of Mumbai’s leading luxury hospitality destinations, with a renewed focus on thoughtful marketing, stronger brand visibility and deeper guest connections across its accommodation, dining and event offerings.
