CNN-News18 unveils new prime time studio with Nippon India Mutual Fund
Weekday programming from 5:55 pm to 9:55 pm features four flagship news shows
MUMBAI: When the spotlight gets brighter, the stories demand an even sharper stage. CNN-News18 is revamping its prime time experience with the launch of a new studio in partnership with Nippon India Mutual Fund, as news broadcasters continue to invest in premium production and viewer engagement.
The CNN-News18 and Nippon India Mutual Fund Prime Time Studio goes live on 1 July 2026, broadcasting weekdays from 5:55 pm to 9:55 pm. The upgraded facility is designed to enhance news presentation with a more immersive viewing experience while strengthening the channel’s flagship prime time line-up.
The new studio will host four daily programmes fronted by the channel’s leading anchors. Shivani Gupta will present ‘Plain Speak’ at 5:55 pm, followed by Nabila Jamal’s ‘Brass Tacks’ at 6:55 pm, Anand Narasimhan’s ‘The Right Stand’ at 7:55 pm, and Rahul Shivshankar’s ‘The Hard Facts’ at 8:55 pm.
The launch reflects the increasing focus among television news networks on combining editorial depth with enhanced production capabilities as they compete for audiences in an increasingly fragmented media landscape. By investing in premium studio infrastructure, broadcasters are seeking to deliver a more engaging viewing experience while reinforcing their editorial identity.
For CNN-News18, the initiative represents another step in its broader strategy to strengthen its prime time offering, where analysis, debates and context remain central to attracting viewers navigating an increasingly fast-moving news cycle.
The partnership also marks a branding opportunity for Nippon India Mutual Fund, which continues to deepen its visibility through trusted news platforms as financial institutions increasingly align with premium content environments to engage informed audiences.
With a refreshed studio, an established anchor line-up and four consecutive weekday prime time programmes spanning four hours, CNN-News18 is betting that sharper storytelling, credible journalism and stronger presentation will help it stand out in India’s competitive English television news market.
