Sensodyne enters kids oral care segment with Pronamel Kids launch
New toothpaste offers 24-hour cavity protection and comes in two flavours.
MUMBAI: Tiny teeth, big responsibility. As Indian parents become increasingly conscious of preventive healthcare, Sensodyne is brushing into a new category. The Haleon-owned oral care brand has entered India’s children’s oral care market with the launch of Pronamel Kids, a toothpaste designed specifically to help protect and strengthen young teeth from an early age.
Available in Strawberry and Bubble Mint variants for children aged two years and above, Pronamel Kids is formulated to help strengthen enamel and provide 24-hour cavity protection. The product contains 100 per cent natural flavours, is free from sugars and has been developed with dentists to address the unique oral care needs of children.
The launch marks Haleon’s entry into India’s growing kids’ oral care segment and expands the Pronamel franchise beyond its traditional focus on enamel care for adults.
The timing is significant. According to the company, children’s tooth enamel can be up to 50 per cent thinner than that of adults, making milk teeth more vulnerable to cavities and erosion caused by sugary foods, juices and frequent snacking. Oral health experts have long warned that poor protection during early childhood can affect the development and health of permanent teeth later in life.
Pronamel Kids aims to address that gap through a gentler, everyday-use formulation focused on strengthening enamel while helping prevent cavities.
To support the launch, Sensodyne is rolling out a nationwide awareness campaign across Youtube, Instagram and leading OTT platforms. The initiative focuses on educating parents about the importance of early oral care and the risks associated with enamel damage in children.
The campaign reflects a broader shift in consumer behaviour, with parents increasingly seeking specialised healthcare products tailored to different life stages rather than relying on one-size-fits-all solutions.
For Haleon, the move also represents an opportunity to tap into a category where awareness remains relatively low despite rising demand for preventive healthcare products.
Pronamel Kids will be available across general trade, modern trade and e-commerce platforms across India. The toothpaste is priced at Rs 175 for a 70g pack and comes in two child-friendly flavours, Strawberry and Bubble Mint designed to make brushing a little more appealing for younger consumers.
With children’s oral health climbing higher on parents’ priority lists, Sensodyne is betting that the next battleground in toothpaste won’t just be sensitivity or whitening but winning over the smallest smiles.
