Former Myntra, MFine and Reliance Retail executive to lead engineering strategy
MUMBAI: Angel One is placing a fresh bet on technology as it gears up for its next phase of growth, appointing seasoned technology leader Ajit Narayanan as its new chief technology officer.
The fintech company announced on Thursday that Narayanan will lead its engineering function, overseeing platform architecture, scalability and performance while helping deepen the company’s artificial intelligence capabilities.
His appointment comes at a time when financial services firms are increasingly turning to AI, automation and data-driven systems to improve customer experiences and streamline operations. At Angel One, Narayanan will focus on strengthening the company’s technology backbone, embedding AI-led intelligence across key systems and building resilient platforms capable of supporting future growth.
Alongside the leadership change, Ravish Sinha will move from his current position as group chief product and technology officer into an individual technologist role within the office of the group CEO, where he will continue contributing to the company’s technology vision.
Commenting on the appointment, Angel One group chief executive officer Ambarish Kenghe said the company is entering a pivotal phase where technology and AI are reshaping how financial products reach consumers.
According to Angel One group chief executive officer Ambarish Kenghe, Narayanan’s experience in building and scaling large technology platforms will help strengthen the company’s core infrastructure, accelerate AI innovation and support seamless customer experiences at scale.
Narayanan brings more than 25 years of experience spanning consumer internet, e-commerce, digital healthcare and enterprise technology. Over the years, he has built a reputation for creating large-scale platforms and leading technology transformations powered by cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence and data analytics.
Speaking about his new role, Ajit Narayanan said the company’s technology ambitions and the scale of its opportunity were key factors behind his decision to join.
According to Narayanan, the company has already built a strong modular platform serving millions of users, and emerging technologies such as AI and advanced engineering can help unlock its next stage of growth.
Before joining Angel One, Narayanan led technology for supply chain and commercial platforms at Reliance Retail. Earlier, as chief technology and product officer at Licious, he helped modernise the company’s consumer and operational technology stack, using data and AI to improve customer experience, fulfilment and operational efficiency.
He was also a co-founder of MFine, one of India’s early AI-powered digital healthcare platforms, where he played a key role in shaping both the company’s technology architecture and product strategy.
Narayanan’s career also includes a significant stint at Myntra, where he served as chief technology officer during a period of rapid expansion. There, he helped drive the adoption of machine learning across areas such as personalisation, pricing, demand forecasting and customer discovery.
Earlier in his professional journey, he held several engineering and product leadership positions at SAP, contributing to enterprise cloud, integration and API management platforms that supported large-scale digital transformation initiatives globally.
A graduate of Bangalore University with a Bachelor of Engineering degree, Narayanan is also the inventor of multiple technology patents.
As fintech firms race to blend AI with investing and wealth management services, Angel One’s latest leadership appointment signals its intent to stay ahead of the curve.
