Titan sets Guinness record with deepest underwater watch photoshoot
Zero Hour diver watch photographed at 52.1 metres beneath the ocean surface.
MUMBAI: Talk about making a splash, Titan has taken product photography where few cameras, and even fewer watches, dare to go. Titan Watches has secured a Guinness World Record for the deepest underwater product photoshoot, taking one of its flagship diving watches 52.1 metres below the ocean’s surface in a high-pressure test of endurance, engineering and precision. The record-setting shoot was conducted off Racha Noi Island in Phuket, Thailand, where a team of five certified technical divers descended into open-ocean waters carrying specialised camera equipment and a limited-edition Titan Zero Hour 500M Professional Diver’s Automatic Watch.
The team reached the 50-metre mark in just seven minutes before continuing to a maximum depth of 52.1 metres. Working against the clock in challenging underwater conditions, the divers completed the shoot within a 20-minute operational window, capturing images at depths rarely used for commercial product photography.
The achievement adds another milestone to Titan’s recently launched Zero Hour performance watch range, which was introduced earlier this year as the company’s dedicated sports and adventure watch sub-brand.
Designed for demanding environments, the Zero Hour collection takes its name from the critical moment before action begins, a point where precision and reliability become non-negotiable. The record attempt was intended to demonstrate exactly that philosophy under real-world conditions rather than controlled testing environments.
The watch used during the shoot was the Titan Zero Hour 500M Professional Diver’s Automatic, one of only 1,000 numbered pieces produced. The model has already earned credentials including ISO 6425 compliance and validation from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), benchmarks that are closely watched in the global diving watch community.
The broader Zero Hour collection comprises 12 timepieces with water-resistance ratings ranging from 100 metres to 500 metres. The range is priced between Rs 15,795 and Rs 77,995 and is available through Titan World stores, premium watch retailers, large-format outlets and online platforms.
For Titan, the record is about more than just depth. It reflects the company’s ambition to position Indian watchmaking on a global stage increasingly dominated by established international performance-watch brands.
And while most watches spend their lives counting seconds above sea level, this one has already made history by proving it can keep its cool where the pressure is anything but.
