Google elevates Prashant Paulose to global lead, Envisioning Studio
Former India partnerships executive to drive global strategy for Google’s creative AI innovation lab
MUMBAI: Google’s latest leadership move has put a familiar media and technology veteran at the centre of its AI creativity ambitions. Prashant Paulose has taken on a new role as global lead, Envisioning Studio at Google, marking the latest chapter in a career that has spanned digital media, entertainment, content partnerships and technology platforms.
Paulose announced the move on LinkedIn, revealing that he will lead the international strategy and expansion of Google’s Envisioning Studio, an AI innovation prototyping lab housed within the company’s Technology and Society organisation. The studio focuses on developing AI-powered creative tools in collaboration with artists, filmmakers, musicians, educators and other creative professionals.
In his new position, Paulose will oversee efforts to build global partnerships and initiatives aimed at exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance creativity, learning and broader societal outcomes. The role places him at the intersection of technology, human creativity and social impact, areas that have increasingly become central to Google’s AI strategy.
“I am deeply grateful and incredibly excited for the opportunity,” Paulose said in his announcement, adding that he looks forward to working closely with Mira Lane, Jules Walter and the wider team.
The appointment comes after a nearly five-year stint at Google, where Paulose held several leadership roles across content, entertainment and platform partnerships. Most recently, he served as Head of Apps, Google Play & Google TV, India. Before that, he led media and entertainment partnerships across India and Southeast Asia and also undertook a strategic secondment focused on XR partnerships in Los Angeles.
Prior to joining Google in 2021, Paulose spent more than four years at Apple, where he helped launch Apple TV+ in India and led the company’s video business in the market. He also played a key role in scaling Apple Music and iTunes partnerships across the country.
His media industry credentials run even deeper. During a nearly seven-year tenure at Sony Pictures Networks India, Paulose held multiple strategy and business development leadership roles, overseeing digital licensing, syndication, YouTube partnerships, sports rights acquisitions and the growth of digital sports offerings. Earlier in his career, he worked with Sahara One Media & Entertainment and Tata Motor Finance.
An MBA graduate from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and an engineering alumnus of the University of Mumbai, Paulose brings a rare combination of technology, media and business expertise to the new role.
As AI companies increasingly seek to bridge technology and creative expression, Google’s decision to place an experienced media and platform executive at the helm of its Envisioning Studio signals the growing importance of creator-focused innovation in the next phase of artificial intelligence development.
