AHEMDABAD: As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) celebrated their second IPL title at the Narendra Modi Stadium, another show-stealer unfolded above the pitch. BotLab Dynamics, in partnership with TCM Platform, delivered a breathtaking drone spectacle that transformed the IPL 2026 final into an immersive visual experience witnessed by more than 128,000 fans in the stadium and 3.4 crore viewers watching live.

Timed with a powerful live performance by singer Kailash Kher, the mid-innings show blended technology, music and mythology into a seamless aerial narrative. Inspired by Lord Shiva, the presentation featured striking formations including a Trishul, Shiv Tandav-inspired visuals, the universe cradled in Shiva’s hands and the coveted IPL trophy.

The performance went beyond conventional entertainment. Interwoven with IPL highlights, the synchronised drone formations created a storytelling experience that connected audiences in the stadium, on television and across social media.

One of the evening’s most talked-about moments came through BotLab Dynamics’ drone-screen technology. By turning an entire fleet of drones into individual pixels, the company created a giant floating screen in the night sky, displaying video-like visuals above one of the world’s largest cricket stadiums. According to the company, it marked the first successful execution of such a formation by an Indian drone show operator.

The Shiva-themed sequences proved particularly popular, with fans rapidly sharing clips of the Trishul and Tandav visuals online. The spectacle also drew attention beyond the stadium, as residents from nearby rooftops and buildings captured the display, visible within a 10-kilometre radius. Social media platforms were soon flooded with videos and reactions, with many users expressing regret at missing the experience in person.

The show highlighted the growing role of experiential marketing in sports entertainment, demonstrating how live events can extend far beyond the venue through shared digital moments and audience participation.

The IPL final marked BotLab Dynamics’ fourth major collaboration with the league, further cementing its reputation in large-scale aerial entertainment.

Reflecting on the response, Aayush Bector, Business Head at BotLab Dynamics, said the volume of user-generated content demonstrated the impact of creating experiences audiences want to share. Founder and Managing Director Dr Sarita Ahlawat added that technology is at its most powerful when people stop noticing it and simply feel the experience.

As celebrations around RCB’s title triumph continue, fans are still sharing images of the drone-crafted IPL trophy, proof that while the champions lifted silverware on the ground, the night itself belonged to the skies.
