Prime Video bets big on scam drama The Pyramid Scheme
TVF’s new drama dives into greed, hustle culture and the dangerous charm of quick money
MUMBAI: Money talks, but in The Pyramid Scheme, it also lies, cheats and lures. Ahead of the tenth edition of Amazon Prime Day in India this July, Prime Video has added another major title to its blockbuster line-up. The platform has officially locked June 5 as the premiere date for its upcoming Hindi drama series The Pyramid Scheme and from the looks of it, this is one climb where the higher you go, the harder the fall.
Produced by The Viral Fever and premiering exclusively on Prime Video, The Pyramid Scheme explores the seductive world of quick-money scams through a story packed with ambition, betrayal and emotional chaos. Set in the spiritually vibrant yet economically restless backdrop of Haridwar, the series follows Goldy, played by Paramvir Singh Cheema, a sharp and charismatic young man desperate for a better life. What begins as a seemingly harmless opportunity soon spirals into a murky maze of greed and manipulation.
Joining him is Ranvir Shorey as Manoj Srivastava, a sincere and grounded man who gets pulled into the chaos as dreams of success slowly give way to deception. The ensemble cast also features Shekhar Suman, Aanjjan Srivastav, Alfia Jafry and Ashish Raghava in key roles, alongside a strong supporting line-up including Akhilendra Mishra, Smita Bansal and Sushant Singh.
Created by Shreyansh Pandey and directed by Shreyansh Pandey along with Ashish R Shukla, the series is written by Akshendra Mishra. The makers promise a drama that balances humour and heartbreak while unpacking the emotional cost of chasing success at any price.
Prime Video’s director & head of content licensing Manish Menghani described the show as an “emotionally resonant” story rooted in relatable aspirations, while TVF president Vijay Koshy said the team wanted to explore the need for ambition and validation in a world obsessed with shortcuts to success.
With TVF already behind crowd favourites like Panchayat, Aspirants and Sapne vs Everyone, expectations are naturally high. But if The Pyramid Scheme delivers on its promise, viewers may find themselves hooked not by the dream of easy money but by the cost of believing in it.
