Paras Mehta exits Omnicom group after 25-year advertising career
Former IPG Mediabrands SVP hints at new venture after long industry run
MUMBAI: Paras Mehta has stepped down from his role at the Omnicom Group, marking the end of a 25-year career in the corporate and advertising world.
Mehta, who most recently served as senior vice president, India at IPG Mediabrands, shared news of his departure through a LinkedIn post, signalling the start of a new entrepreneurial chapter.
“After 25+ years in the corporate world, I’m starting a new chapter. I’m currently building something I deeply care about,” Mehta wrote, adding that details of his next venture will be revealed soon. He also thanked colleagues, mentors, and partners who shaped his professional journey over the years.
Mehta had taken on the SVP role in July 2025, shortly before IPG’s merger with Omnicom Group. Prior to that, he was business head at Matterkind India, where he led the group’s data-driven programmatic practice.
Over the years, he built a reputation for tackling complex optimisation and performance challenges across advertisers and publishers. Under his leadership, Matterkind strengthened its positioning in advanced addressable programmatic solutions, riding the wave of data-led advertising innovation in India.
His exit comes at a time when the advertising industry is seeing continued consolidation and leadership churn, alongside a growing shift towards data, automation, and AI-led media planning.
While Mehta has not yet disclosed details of his next move, his message suggests a pivot towards building something independently, potentially signalling another seasoned industry leader stepping into the startup ecosystem.
