Assam on the rise News18 sets the stage for a future facing summit
MUMBAI: If Assam’s growth story has a next chapter, it is getting prime time billing. News18 Assam Northeast is set to host Rising Assam 2025 in Guwahati on 22 December, turning the spotlight on where the state has been and where it wants to go next.
Envisioned as a stocktake with a forward gaze, Rising Assam aims to unpack the state’s development journey while putting its ambitions, opportunities and policy priorities under the scanner. The event brings together political leadership and key decision-makers to discuss what is driving Assam’s momentum and what still needs fixing.
Taking centre stage will be chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who will attend the conclave as chief guest. The programme features two exclusive one-on-one conversations with the chief minister, each running for 30 minutes. The first will see him in discussion with Anand Narasimhan, managing editor and senior anchor, CNN-News18, followed by a second interaction with News18 Assam North East editor for Paragmoni Aditya.
Beyond the headline interviews, the agenda widens to include focused sessions with senior members of the Assam Cabinet, spanning portfolios that touch everyday life and long-term strategy alike. Ministers expected to take part include Chandra Mohan Patowary, Atul Bora, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Jayanta Malla Baruah, Ashok Singhal and Rupesh Gowala, covering areas from environment, agriculture and tourism to health, urban affairs, labour welfare and border development.
With policy conversations, leadership perspectives and future priorities sharing the same stage, Rising Assam 2025 positions itself as more than a ceremonial meet, it is designed as a checkpoint on progress and a prompt for what comes next.
Viewers can watch Rising Assam 2025 live on News18 Assam Northeast on 22 December from 4.00 pm onwards, as Assam’s present meets its aspirations in real time.
