‘Raymond’ triumphs at Family Television Awards in the US

MUMBAI: CBS’ sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond won the award for best comedy at the sixth edition of the Family Television Awards in the US. In India the show airs on Star World.

The Family Television Awards claim to be the only awards in which the members of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) — major corporate marketers — recognise outstanding programming for family viewing. 46 major US advertisers participate in the Family Friendly Programming Forum. They work to encourage the American television community to produce more prime-time shows that families can view together.

The event will air on The WB Network in the US on 9 December. Joan of Arcadia won for the best drama show. ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition won in the reality category.
