Ashley Massaro triumphs on WWE’s Diva Search
MUMBAI: Ashley Massaro has triumphed in the second edition of World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) initiative Diva Search on one of its flagship shows Raw. In India WWE action airs on Ten Sports.
Ashley will receive a one-year WWE contract worth $250,000, and will become a regular performer on Raw. Ashley will make her first official appearance as a WWE Diva at the live SummerSlam pay-per-view event taking place at the MCI Center in Washington later this month.
Massaro entered the Diva Search having been Miss Hawaiian Tropic USA 2002, Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada 2005, host of several E! Channel Wild On shows
Of the thousands of women who entered this competition, eight finalists were selected and debuted on Raw on 27 June 2005. WWE fans voted every week at WWE.com for their favorite Diva contestant. Each week, one Diva contestant was eliminated until three contestants remained and Ashley Massaro was declared the winner.
The winner of last year’s initiative Christy Hemme recently graced the cover of Playboy Magazine in April and competed at a main event match at WrestleMania 21 versus Womens Champion Trish Stratus.
