Walt Disney, Hk Disneyland Resort renew alliance with Visa
MUMBAI: The Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific) and Hong Kong Disneyland have renewed their alliance with Visa.
Under the fresh contract, Visa will continue to be the “official card of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort”. Additionally, the new agreement will further extend to other businesses including Studio Entertainment (Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Music Group, Disney Theatrical Productions), Disney Interactive Media Group and Disney Consumer Products.
It will also allow Visa to have the exclusive right to first negotiations on sponsorship, promotional and marketing opportunities that involve Disney-branded initiatives.
The deal will cover Asia Pacific regions (excluding Japan) and represents an extension of the original 2005 agreement. Effective immediately, the deal will be in place until 2014.
Visa will extend promotional offers at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to its cardholders through selected card-issuing banks, including special dining and accommodation offers at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel. It will also give away special merchandise offers at the Resort.
“The renewed corporate alliance relationship between Disney and Visa supports broad and comprehensive integrated marketing opportunities for Visa and its 600 Asia Pacific client banks and Hong Kong Disneyland, Disney‘s movies, live entertainment shows, interactive media, and consumer retail promotions,” said The Walt Disney Company senior vice president – corporate alliances Lawrence Aldridge.
“With this alliance, we are able to increase the value we bring to our client banks to help them cater to their Visa cardholders and we hope that Visa cardholders across the region will take advantage of the deals and services that have been and will be made available to them,” added Visa general manager – marketing – Asia Pacific Rajiv Kapoor.

Mukta Arts and Green Gold ink MOU to animate iconic film IPs
Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan to spawn animated shows plus features.
MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.
The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.
Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”
