MUMBAI: Karbonn Mobiles, the Indian domestic mobile phone brand, has become the title sponsor of the 2011 edition of the South Asian Football Federation Cup.
‘Karbonn SAFF Championship 2011‘, the premier football competition for South-Asia will have the top eight teams from the area which includes the first seed team of Maldives and the second seed team of India.
Karbonn Mobiles executive director Shashin Devsare said, “Karbonn Mobiles, previously, has been associated with various sporting events like ‘Champions League T20‘, ‘Hockey World Cup, 2010‘ and the ‘Indian Premier League‘. The ‘Karbonn SAFF Championship 2011‘, apart from the seeded teams of Maldives and India, also features participation of Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Bhutan, who along with India make up Group I; while Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal along with Maldives make up Group II.
