Zee Tamil will be showcasing a mix of movies and special shows filled with fun and frolic on this occasion. Highlighting the unique food that marks this festival, Zee Tamil presents its viewers with a special show called ‘Ganapathy Mess’, at 10:00 am on 22nd August, wherein celebrity couples will come together to prepare a special Chaturthi spread from scratch! Hosted by RJ Vinayak and Kamal, the show will feature real-life celebrity couples such as Chandini & Nanda, Deepak & Sivaranjini, Singapore Deepan & Sukanya among others.
‘Music Masters’, airing at 2:00 pm on 22nd August, is a musical extravaganza wherein the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa talent will pair up with fiction artists and compete in various genres for the title of Music Masters. Judged by singers Srinivas & Sujatha and hosted by Archana & Deepak, this fun filled singing show will feature actors like Farina, Singapore Deepan, Nandha, Lakshmi, Krithika, Nakshatra, Alagappan and singers such as Ramaniammal, Srinidhi, Varsha, Kamalesh, Uday, among others.
On this special day, Zee Tamil will also be featuring blockbuster movies, adding to the day long celebrations. ‘Sethupathi’, the action-packed thriller, starring superstar Vijay Sethupathi and Remya Nambeesan in lead roles will be airing at 7:30 am. For the first time in Indian Television, Tamil movie buffs will have the opportunity to watch ‘Gypsy’, at 11:00 am only on Zee Tamil. Starring Jiva and Natasha Singh in lead roles, this movie is a romantic love story of a wandering musician and an orthodox Muslim girl, which displays a wide palette of emotions and situations through its exquisite music and socio-political overtones. ‘Mersal’, an action thriller film starring ‘Ilayathalapathy’ Vijay in three roles with Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nithya Menen and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles will air at 4:00 pm.
In the beginning of 2020, the Zee South Cluster family added a new member – the 24×7 movie channel Zee Thirai. The Tamil audiences’ love for the movies is well known and Zee Thirai was launched with the vision to cater to this audience by providing a stellar selection of Tamil cinema’s finest.
This Chaturthi Zee Thirai will be showcasing a movie marathon of some of Tamil cinema’s greatest hits to mark this auspicious day. ‘Vikram Vedha’, a neo-noir action thriller starring Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan in leading roles will be airing from 7:00 am – 10:00 am. Ajith starrer ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’, a legal drama shedding light on deep social issues, will air from 10:00 am – 1:30 pm. ‘Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven’, an action-comedy starring superstar Silambarasan and Megha Akash in lead roles will air from 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm. From 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, the viewers can catch the Superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’, a thrilling science-fiction action movie with a strong social message. The day will be rounded off with a showing of the Sivakarthikeyan starrer end-to-end masala film ‘Rajini Murugan’ from 8:00 pm – 11:30 pm.
