Mumbai: As the nation revels in this season of celebration, TV9 Network, India’s largest television network, proudly announces a groundbreaking initiative that resonates with the spirit of festivity and unity – the ‘WOW’ (We Onboard Women) policy. This visionary policy is designed to honour the remarkable strength and potential that women bring to our organisation and the world.

Women, the cornerstone of our society, have consistently demonstrated unwavering strength, the art of multitasking, and an indomitable spirit, leaving an indelible mark across every facet of life. From iconic figures like Mother Teresa, whose compassion knew no bounds, to Khadija, the pioneering Arab businesswoman, and Maa Durga, the very embodiment of courage, women have illuminated the path to greatness, serving as enduring inspiration for us all.

TV9 Network MD and CEO Barun Das said, “I think as a country, if we are not harnessing the potential of 50 per cent of our workforce, which is the female workforce, we are handicapping ourselves. This is where ‘WOW – We Onboard Women’ comes into play. It is a brilliant initiative by our HR team. We have always felt the need for greater participation of women in our organization. With this initiative, it’s our first step towards a long but extremely essential journey.”

As we take this monumental step toward gender diversity, our goal is to create an environment where every member, regardless of their gender, feels cherished, respected, and empowered.

While the initial focus is on gender diversity, ‘WOW’ represents only the beginning of our broader goals. Speaking about the launch of this flagship initiative,  TV9 president and head of human resources at Network Devleena S Majumder said, “The ‘WOW’ policy is the first step; we aspire to embrace diversity comprehensively, encompassing factors such as age, race, culture, abilities, and experiences. By nurturing and supporting diverse perspectives, we aim to unlock the full potential of our organisation.”
