Special X’Mas shows and movies from Kids’ channels

MUMBAI: The magical festive season with carols and special offering for viewers from the kids’ channel across the board for the festive seasons would service the whole family with some special X’Mas shows and movies.

The new entrant in the kids channel Disney Channel aims to provide entertainment for the entire family, with Studio Disney which airs at 5pm to 7pm followed by the hugely popular animated feature Mickeys Once Upon a Christmas and followed by the Disney family Mickey Mouse, Minnie, Goofy Donald and Daisy to celebrate Chirstmas at 7.00pm.
 
 
While Nick will programme packed full of Christmas goodies with Nick Jr: Little Bill – Merry Christmas Little Bill at 10 am. The show as the Glover family is getting ready for Christmas, Little Bill is worried that Alice the Great, who is visiting friends in Ohio, won’t get back home in time for the holiday.

When Alice calls from the airport to tell them her flight is snowed in, Little Bill decides to write a last minute letter to Santa Claus, hoping his sleigh can make it through the bad weather and he can give Alice the Great a lift back, informs an official release.

Fairly Odd Parents  A Wish Too Far will feature at 12 pm. Timmy finds a cute girl on the school bus, but she only likes popular kids. So Timmy wishes to be popular, but he doesn’t thank Cosmo and Wanda, and they are being re-assigned.

Christmas Crackers: 3 Hour Marathon will air at 4 pm where three straight hours featuring favorite Nicktoons such as SpongeBob, CatDog, Rugrats and many more, ending with a never seen before episode of 100 Deeds For Eddie McDowd!

Yakkity Yak  Nerds Are People Too at 10 pm, the show where Yakkity’s class takes a test where high achievers will win a place in a special camp. Little do they know, it’s all part of the plan of Gary, the villain who wants to destroy Onion Falls.

Cartoon Network celebrates the festive season with the Christmas specials featuring all your favourite cartoon stars in a very jerry Christmas.

On the Christmas day special episodes of Bob The Builder, Baby Looney Toons and Scooby Doo will be shown. The Christmas day megatoon movies aired back-to-back including Barbie and the Nut Cracker at 12 pm followed by Batman and Mr. Freeze at 2 p.m.

For the action lovers, special Christmas episodes of X Men Evolution and Justice League, only on Powerzone Christmas, informs the company release. And the channel will feature a 90-minute special Christmas show with the Flintstones featuring the Flintstones Christmas Carol.

The sibling channel Pogo will feature Prime Pogo X’Mas Specials, will showcase feature of Robbie The Reindeer from 5:30 pm onwards, with Robbie The Reindeer In Hooves of Fire, and Robbie The Reindeer In Legend of The Lost Tribe.

Two of a Kind – A Very Carrie Christmas will feature Mary-Kate and Ashley who are excited when Carrie accepts Kevin’s invitation to be with the family on Christmas Eve at 6 pm.

And Mr. Bean – Merry Christmas Mr Bean will air at 7pm that features, Mr. Bean who purchases his Christmas decorations at Harrods; collects money for and then conducts a Salvation Army band, informs the company release.

BARC Week 8 data shows news share rising to 8 per cent despite T20 World Cup

NEW DELHI: Even as individual television news channel ratings remain under a temporary pause, the genre itself is seeing a clear surge in audience attention.

According to the latest data from Broadcast Audience Research Council India, television news recorded a 33 per cent jump in genre share in Week 8 of 2026, covering February 28 to March 6.

The news genre accounted for 8 per cent of total television viewership during the week, up from 6 per cent the previous week. The spike in attention coincided with escalating geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which have kept global headlines firmly fixed on West Asia.

The rise is notable because it came at a time when cricket was dominating television screens. The high-stakes stages of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, including the Super 8 fixtures and semi-finals, were being broadcast during the same period.

Despite the cricket frenzy, viewers appeared to be toggling between sport and global affairs, boosting the overall share of news programming.

The surge in genre share comes even as the government has enforced a one-month pause on publishing ratings for individual news channels. The move followed regulatory scrutiny of the television ratings ecosystem.

While channel-level rankings remain temporarily out of sight, the genre-level data suggests that when global tensions escalate, audiences continue to turn to television news for real-time updates.
