Kunika turns producer with ‘Strivers & Achievers’
MUMBAI: TV and film actor-turned-producer Kunika Sadanand Lall announced that her first product ‘Strivers and Achievers’ is ready to hit the tube on 13 April. The show will be aired on DD2, every Sunday at 10 am. As of now, Kunika is acting in only one serial- ‘Kittie Party’.
The programme, anchored by Kunika herself, will celeberate the lives, struggle and achievement of people with physical/mental/situational handicaps.
On being asked that what had made her don the producer’s hat, she said, “The seeds were sown when I saw a Oprah Winfrey show in the US sometime back. Oprah spreads a tremendous amount of goodwill in her society. So I thought, why not I? The seeds began to germinate when I was working on an AIDS awareness programme, under the guidance of Dr. I S Gilada. I have worked under him for the past 10 years. I discovered that people suffering from a terminal disease had more positivity, resolve and inner strenth to combat life, rather than others.”
“Furthermore, I have had a learning experience in life which had almost made me a recluse. During that period, many people came forward to help me in different ways. I would not like to comment on whether our celebrities have given back to the society as much as they ought to have, and would disagree if someone were to say that there is no kindness left in this world.”
Asked whether people would prefer seeing her show more than ‘saas bahu’ seials, she retorted, “Firstly, my show will be on Sunday mornings. I had asked for this time and got it. I am not fighting with daily/weekly soaps. I am not looking for any TRPs. I bet that this serial would help us to consider every ‘special’ child as a God’s gift.
The show has been granted a permission of 26 episodes. 16 episodes are ready for telecast, says Kunika.

Sony to launch Tum Ho Naa game show hosted by Rajeev Khandelwal
MUMBAI: Lights, camera… connection because this time, the game isn’t just about winning, it’s about who’s with you. Sony Pictures Networks India is gearing up to launch a new reality game show, Tum Ho Naa, expanding its unscripted slate with a format that promises both emotion and engagement.
The show will premiere soon on Sony Entertainment Television and stream on Sony LIV, with Rajeev Khandelwal stepping in as host. Known for his measured screen presence and selective choices, Khandelwal’s return to television adds a layer of familiarity and credibility to the upcoming format.
While specific details of the gameplay remain under wraps, the positioning suggests a reality format that leans as much on emotional resonance as it does on competition, an increasingly popular blend in Indian television, where audiences are gravitating towards content that offers both stakes and storytelling.
Khandelwal, reflecting on his return, noted that his choices have often been guided by instinct rather than convention, describing Tum Ho Naa as a project that feels “close to the heart”. His association also signals Sony’s continued focus on anchoring new formats with recognisable faces who bring both relatability and depth.
The launch comes at a time when broadcasters are doubling down on original non-fiction formats to drive appointment viewing, even as digital platforms expand parallel reach. By placing the show across both linear television and OTT, Sony appears to be aiming for a dual-audience strategy capturing traditional viewers while engaging digital-first consumers.
As the countdown to premiere begins, Tum Ho Naa positions itself not just as another game show, but as a reminder that sometimes, the biggest prize on screen isn’t the jackpot, it’s the journey shared along the way.
