HBO to show action, comedy, thrillers and children’s films this September

MUMBAI: Hollywood movie channel, HBO, will telecast a series of action, comedy, drama and thriller flicks in September. The channel has also lined up a number of children’s blockbusters on Sundays, to target the young viewers.

The month’s best movies includes Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The Fast and the Furious, Three Kings and Space Cowboys.
The video game adventure Tomb Raider, directed by Simon West and starring Angelina Jolie, will air on 20 September. Tomb Raider has a energetic techno soundtrack and will appeal to video game addicts and action movie fans.
As for the other movies, The Fast And The Furious stars Vin Diesel, Three Kings stars George Clooney and Space Cowboys stars Oscar winners Tommy Lee Jones and Clint Eastwood.
HBO, which is the official TV channel for the sequel, Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life, recently launched a special contest in India, timed with the movie’s premi?re here. The contest started 26 August and prizes included an all-expenses-paid trip to Thailand and other exclusive HBO collectables.
The channel’s ‘HBO Kids Blockbuster Sunday’ will begin from 7 September. Movies including Babe: Pig In The City, Batman, Big Fat Liar and Problem Child 3 will be shown in this package.
Other movies scheduled for the month are Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Nowhere To Run, Sylvester Stallone’s The Specialist, Sean Connery’s The Hunt For Red October and Tom Cruise’s Risky Business on Sundays.
Every Friday at 9: 00 pm the channel will telecast movies like Agents, Mission: Impossible 2, Executive Decision, True Lies, and the spy thriller The Fourth Protocol.
On 23 September, HBO will air ‘HBO Emmy Winners Extravaganza’ at 5:00 pm. The channel will have a 12-hour back-to-back telecast of its best movies on this day. Films like Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, RKO 281, Conspiracy and 61* will be shown. These will be followed by four special episodes of the Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks produced HBO Original Mini Series Band Of Brothers.

Zee5 launches five free FAST channels on Samsung TV Plus India

New genre-led channels bring comedy, drama, horror, classics and South films to Smart TVs.

MUMBAI: Zee5 just turned Samsung Smart TVs into a free entertainment buffet because when premium content costs nothing, even the remote control starts smiling. Zee5 has launched five curated free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels on Samsung TV Plus India, making high-quality, genre-specific entertainment available subscription-free to millions of Samsung Smart TV owners across the country.

The five channels now live are:

Zee Comedy Nation – Popular comedy shows and movies
Zee Dil Se – Compelling drama series
ZEE Horror Nights – Horror and supernatural content
ZEE Cine Classic – Timeless Indian films
ZEE South Flix – High-energy South Indian films dubbed in Hindi
All content is drawn from Zee5’s extensive library and programmed in a lean-back, always-on format ideal for large-screen viewing. This launch strengthens Zee5’s Connected TV strategy at a time when 64 per cent of its premium content watch time already comes from connected devices.

The channels are available directly through the pre-installed Samsung TV Plus app with no login or subscription required. This marks another milestone in Zee5’s CTV expansion and builds on its growing international presence, with Zee channels already available on Samsung TV Plus across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
