CNBC relaunches ‘Boardroom’ in new avtaar

MUMBAI: As the economy booms and the stock markets are resurgent once again, CNBC-TV18 is all set to present the report card of India Inc. through their revamped show Boardroom where investors and corporate heads can tune in to find out exactly how their favourite companies have performed in the last quarter.
According to an official release, viewers will also get a unique opportunity to hear from the leaders of India Inc. their viewpoint on their numbers and balance sheets.
Boardroom is CNBC TV18’s unique forum where India’s top management will share the company’s financial results live on television. This critical television show also finds out the views from the community of investors, shareholders and who’s who of India Inc.
The financial markets have witnessed a robust revival in the past six months. All the corporates are on the roll to announce their half yearly results. Boardroom brings these corporate officials face-to-face to share their strategies. And the panorama of the Indian markets will give value-added perspectives.
The results will be announced live on the channel with the top management of the company featured being extensively grilled on the results. This generally includes the CEO and CFO and on occasion other top leaders of the company as well, added the release.
Coming soon on the channel are Boardrooms with some of the biggest names in technology industry. On 17 October Boardroom with Wipro will be aired from 9.20-9.40 am where Wipro vice chairman Vivek Paul; CFO Suresh Senapaty; Wipro Spectramind chairman Raman Roy will hold the mantle. From 10:50-11:00 am Hexaware Technologies chairman Atul Nishar and Hexaware CEO Rusi Brij will be seen on the show. On 21 October Boardroom with Digital GlobalSoft president and CEO Som Mittal will be aired at 11:00 am.
The coming weeks will also see some of the most renowned names in Indian business come face to face with their results on Boardroom.

BARC Week 8 data shows news share rising to 8 per cent despite T20 World Cup

NEW DELHI: Even as individual television news channel ratings remain under a temporary pause, the genre itself is seeing a clear surge in audience attention.

According to the latest data from Broadcast Audience Research Council India, television news recorded a 33 per cent jump in genre share in Week 8 of 2026, covering February 28 to March 6.

The news genre accounted for 8 per cent of total television viewership during the week, up from 6 per cent the previous week. The spike in attention coincided with escalating geopolitical tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which have kept global headlines firmly fixed on West Asia.

The rise is notable because it came at a time when cricket was dominating television screens. The high-stakes stages of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, including the Super 8 fixtures and semi-finals, were being broadcast during the same period.

Despite the cricket frenzy, viewers appeared to be toggling between sport and global affairs, boosting the overall share of news programming.

The surge in genre share comes even as the government has enforced a one-month pause on publishing ratings for individual news channels. The move followed regulatory scrutiny of the television ratings ecosystem.

While channel-level rankings remain temporarily out of sight, the genre-level data suggests that when global tensions escalate, audiences continue to turn to television news for real-time updates.
