MUMBAI: When fuel-tech firms talk about acceleration, Nawgati is putting a seasoned driver behind the wheel. Nawgati has appointed Ambuj Singh as senior vice president for business and operations, strengthening its leadership bench as it scales across India, Sri Lanka and the UAE. In his new role, Singh will steer nationwide business strategy, operations and client partnerships, with a focus on large-scale deployments, PSU engagement, revenue growth and operational efficiency.

Singh brings over a decade of experience spanning digital payments, energy and enterprise partnerships. Most recently, he served as vice president and head of alliances at Paytm, where he led partnerships across oil and gas, automotive and emerging businesses. His remit included driving SaaS adoption, payment automation, EV and FASTag enablement, and building strategic alliances with leading fuel companies.

Earlier in his career, Singh held managerial roles at Indian Oil Corporation Limited, overseeing supply chain operations, vendor management and demand planning, while also leading pilot deployments of new fuel products across Maharashtra.

Commenting on the appointment, Nawgati CEO and co-founder Vaibhav Kaushik said the company is entering a phase where execution speed, operational reliability and monetisation efficiency will define leadership in the fuel-tech space. Singh’s blend of digital ecosystem building and deep PSU engagement, he noted, aligns closely with Nawgati’s next chapter of growth.

Singh, in turn, said the opportunity lay in solving real, large-scale operational challenges across the fuel and mobility ecosystem, from congestion management to improving predictability and compliance at fuel stations.

With active deployments across India and subsidiaries in Sri Lanka and the UAE, Nawgati is building a connected fuel retail ecosystem that combines infrastructure intelligence, real-time analytics and consumer-facing platforms. The appointment signals the company’s intent to sharpen execution as it expands partnerships with public sector bodies, private fuel operators and mobility stakeholders across markets.
