Google Vids brings Gemini Omni 1.1 to free HD video creation

MUMBAI: Google is opening up AI-powered video creation to a wider audience with Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash in Google Vids, allowing anyone with a Google or Google Workspace account to generate high-definition videos at no cost.

The new integration brings Google’s latest AI video capabilities directly into Google Vids, giving users tools to generate and edit video scenes without requiring professional production skills or a large budget.

Users can access the feature through Google Vids on desktop by selecting the “Create AI videos” option. The platform is designed for use cases ranging from product launches and social media content to marketing campaigns, community events and digital signage.

Google said Gemini Omni 1.1 in Vids gives users greater control over the video creation process, from the initial concept through to the final export.

Users can extend generated scenes while maintaining visual consistency across elements such as lighting, characters and environments. They can also specify the exact duration of generated clips to align them with a particular story or voiceover.

The platform can generate new video scenes in 1080p HD and upscale existing AI-generated clips, allowing users to maintain consistent quality across a video timeline.

Google Vids also offers ready-to-use templates for users looking to create promotional videos without manually editing footage. Businesses can use product images to create promotional content, while enterprise teams can develop videos for landing pages, social announcements and digital events.

Google is also building transparency into the new video workflow. Every clip generated with Gemini Omni 1.1 in Google Vids includes an imperceptible SynthID digital watermark embedded in the video frames.

SynthID is designed to help identify content generated by AI, giving viewers a way to verify the provenance of generated videos.

Google is also preparing to add Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite text-to-speech to Vids. The feature will allow users to turn written scripts into voiceovers across more than 100 languages.

The capability is aimed at creators, businesses and other users who want to add narration to AI-generated videos without separately recording or producing a voice track.

Google said anyone with a Google or Google Workspace account can now access AI video generation with Omni 1.1 in Vids at no cost. Personal users looking for greater access can opt for Google AI plans, while Workspace Business and Enterprise customers get expanded generation capacity and centralised administration controls.
