Mumbai: Adobe is putting a new spin on the phrase “creative conversation”. The company has launched a unified Adobe plugin for ChatGPT, bringing more than 70 creative and productivity tools into a single experience designed to help users create, edit and complete projects without leaving the chatbot.

The plugin brings together capabilities from Adobe’s portfolio, including Photoshop, Firefly, Adobe Express, Premiere, Acrobat, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign and Adobe Stock. Users can activate the plugin, describe what they want to make and let it select the relevant Adobe tools behind the scenes.

The idea is simple: move from a rough prompt to finished content in the same conversation. The plugin can handle workflows ranging from image editing and campaign asset creation to video production, document design and PDF generation.

The move expands the partnership between Adobe and OpenAI, as creative software increasingly moves into AI-powered workflows.

“Adobe’s category-leading creative and productivity tools help people express their creativity, communicate and be more productive, and we’re excited to expand our partnership with Adobe to bring those capabilities into ChatGPT with the Adobe plugin in ChatGPT,” said OpenAI, product lead for ChatGPT Ecosystem, Vibhor Chhabra.

For marketers, the plugin can turn a set of campaign photographs into a consistent collection of branded assets. Users can describe the desired look, apply it across images and create product or packaging mock-ups from selected visuals. Finished assets can also be saved to Creative Cloud.

Video workflows are another key use case. A long-form video can be turned into a highlight reel and adapted for platforms such as YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, helping users repurpose content without starting from scratch each time.

The plugin also taps Adobe’s design capabilities. Users can browse templates, preview designs, select one, customise copy and colours, animate the output for social media or convert it into a polished PDF for sharing or printing.

Data can also get a creative makeover. Users can upload a spreadsheet or dataset and describe the document they need. The plugin can turn that information into formatted PDFs such as event badges, catalogues, infographics and other customer-facing material.

Adobe said the new plugin builds on its earlier efforts to bring individual Adobe applications into AI chatbot platforms. The company has expanded access to its tools across platforms including ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot, with integrations for Slack and Gemini also in the pipeline.

The unified ChatGPT experience is designed to draw on the same underlying tools and capabilities used by Adobe’s own AI agents, while allowing users to move into Adobe’s dedicated applications when they need more advanced control.

That could mean starting with a batch of product images in ChatGPT before opening a hero image in Photoshop for more detailed work, including compositing, layers, masks and other precise edits.

In other words, ChatGPT can help get the creative ball rolling, while Adobe’s specialist applications remain the place for the finishing touches.

The Adobe plugin is available globally on ChatGPT’s web and app versions. Users can add Adobe from the Plugins section and then start a conversation by typing “@Adobe” or selecting the tool through the “+” menu.

Users can begin as guests with access to a broad range of Adobe tools. Signing in with an Adobe account unlocks additional features, including generative capabilities, access to Creative Cloud files and the ability to save work across sessions.

The launch reflects a broader shift in how creative software is being packaged for AI-powered work. Rather than making users jump between applications for every stage of a project, Adobe is bringing more of that workflow into the conversation itself.

For users, the pitch is straightforward: fewer tool switches, more creative output and a shorter route from “I have an idea” to “it’s ready”.
