Motorola launches moto pad 70 with 5G and AI tools at Rs 33,999

MUMBAI: Small on the scale but big on ambition, Motorola is giving the tablet market a lighter way to work, learn and play. The company has launched the moto pad 70, combining a slim metal body with 5G connectivity, AI-powered writing tools and a large battery in a tablet aimed at users who want more than just a bigger screen.

The moto pad 70 measures 6.29mm in thickness and weighs 530g, which Motorola positions as the thinnest and lightest 5G tablet in its segment. It comes in a PANTONE Titan Sea Angel finish and features an all-metal body.

At the centre of the device is a 12.1-inch 2.5K display with a 96 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut, brightness of up to 800 nits and TÜV Rheinland certification. Quad speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio are aimed at strengthening the entertainment proposition.

The tablet also brings 5G connectivity, allowing users to stream, attend video calls and work without relying entirely on Wi-Fi.

Motorola has made AI a major part of the productivity pitch. The moto pad 70 comes with the moto pen and AI-powered writing features that can suggest and rewrite text, while AI Notes can turn longer notes into concise summaries.

Google’s AI tools are also built in, including Circle to Search with Google and Google Gemini, which can assist with brainstorming, simplifying information and generating content using text, voice, photos or the camera.

For users looking to turn the tablet into a laptop-style workstation, the optional moto folio keyboard uses a magnetic attachment and includes a dedicated moto pen holder.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Storage can be expanded by up to 2TB through a microSD card.

The 10,200mAh battery is designed to deliver up to 13 hours of YouTube streaming. Motorola bundles a 68W TurboPower charger, which the company says can provide up to two hours of battery life with 10 minutes of charging.

The tablet also supports Smart Connect, allowing compatible Motorola smartphones, tablets and PCs to share files, synchronise content and continue tasks across devices.

The moto pad 70 will go on sale in India from 15 August 2026 through Flipkart, Motorola.in and leading retail stores.

The 8GB + 256GB variant has a launch price of Rs 33,999. With a limited-period offer and an instant bank discount of up to Rs 4,000, the net effective price starts at Rs 29,999.

The launch adds another AI-enabled device to Motorola’s expanding portfolio in India, with the company betting that portability, mobile connectivity and on-device productivity can make tablets more relevant for work and study as well as entertainment.
