BENGALURU: Tilaknagar Industries is raising a toast to a record month in Karnataka. Tilaknagar Industries and its Imperial Blue whisky brand posted their highest-ever sales in the state in July 2026, with the company gaining ground in the premium and deluxe whisky segments.

Tilaknagar Industries sold 3 lakh cases in Karnataka during the month, up around 30 per cent year-on-year. Its secondary sales also reached a record, helping the company capture a 40 per cent market share in the Prestige & Above segment.

Imperial Blue was the bigger growth driver. The whisky brand sold more than 1.5 lakh cases in Karnataka, marking growth of over 50 per cent from the corresponding period last year.

The brand’s market share in the Deluxe Whisky segment also increased to 43 per cent, signalling stronger consumer demand and retail off-take across the state.

Nishant Jain, chief sales officer at Tilaknagar Industries, said Karnataka remained one of the company’s most strategic markets and that the performance reflected its expanded portfolio, distribution network and consumer connect.

He said Imperial Blue’s market share gains demonstrated the success of its integration into Tilaknagar Industries and the company’s ability to scale brands through its distribution network.

The company expects Karnataka’s evolving excise policy to create further opportunities, particularly as consumers increasingly move towards premium products. It plans to continue investing in distribution, brand building and consumer engagement across the state.

The latest performance also follows a strong quarter in another southern market. Tilaknagar Industries said it became the largest IMFL player in Telangana in the quarter ended June 2026, adding to its growing presence across South India.

Karnataka’s revised excise policy is expected to create a more balanced operating environment for alcoholic beverage companies, with premiumisation likely to remain a key growth driver.

Tilaknagar is looking to capitalise on this shift through House of TI, its luxury vertical, which is aimed at consumers seeking premium and luxury spirits.

The portfolio includes Monarch Legacy Edition, the company’s luxury brandy, and Seven Islands Pure Malt Whisky. Tilaknagar also has brands including Mansion House Brandy, Courrier Napoleon Brandy, Madiraa Rum and Blue Lagoon Gin.

Founded in 1933 as Maharashtra Sugar Mills, Tilaknagar Industries has spent more than nine decades building its presence in India’s IMFL market.

With Imperial Blue gaining share and its wider portfolio expanding across premium categories, the company is betting that Karnataka’s evolving drinking preferences will keep its growth spirits high.
