World Padel League ropes in Akcel, SpiceJet ahead of Season 4

Mumbai edition brings 36 international players and a growing brand ecosystem

MUMBAI: Padel is serving up another strong season of brand interest. The World Padel League (WPL) has announced a packed sponsor line-up ahead of its fourth season, with Dubai-based Akcel joining as title sponsor and SpiceJet coming on board as the Powered By partner.

Season 4 will be held from August 12 to 16 at DOME, SVP Stadium in Mumbai, with 36 international padel players competing across six teams.

The league has also brought on Diago Academy and Campa Pace as associate sponsors, while a wider partnership roster spans travel, hydration, energy drinks, sports infrastructure, healthcare, media, lifestyle and fan engagement.

Among the partners are EaseMyTrip as official travel partner, Shunya Herb Infused as official hydration partner, Armour Energy as official energy drink partner and NOX as official ball partner.

Go Sportz will serve as official padel infrastructure partner, Mondo Sport & Flooring as official flooring partner and Apoorva Healthcare as official healthcare partner. Red FM joins as official radio partner, while Hudle, Qorum India, The Radiant Clinic, A7 Ventures, CrepDogCrew and Enchant XP take on community, timekeeping, healthcare, partnership, lifestyle and experiences roles respectively.

Simca Advertising and Jagdish Outdoor will serve as outdoor partners.

International stars headline Season 4

The Mumbai edition will feature several prominent names from the international padel circuit, including former world No. 1 Paula Josemaría and former world No. 1 Marta Ortega.

Crowd favourite Bea González, Argentine players Juan Tello and Aranzazu Osoro, and Premier Padel winner Jon Sanz are also set to take the court. The line-up includes experienced players Sanyo Gutierrez, Lucas Campagnolo and Luciano Capra, alongside emerging talent from the global circuit.

Hemali Sharma, co-founder of World Padel League, said the strength of the partnership line-up was particularly encouraging, with several brands continuing their association with the league.

She added that the support demonstrated growing confidence in padel and the league’s ability to build a broader sporting platform in India.

Five days of padel action

The tournament opens on August 12 with Aussie Mavericks Jaguars taking on Vedanta Leopards at 4pm, followed by VB Realty Cheetahs versus Hubtown Panorama Panthers at 6.30pm.

The league stage continues on August 13 and 14 before the eliminator and qualifier on August 15. The semi-finals and final will take place on August 16, with the final scheduled for 8.15pm.

The complete schedule includes:

  • August 12: Aussie Mavericks Jaguars vs Vedanta Leopards at 4pm; VB Realty Cheetahs vs Hubtown Panorama Panthers at 6.30pm
  • August 13: Game Changers Lions vs Hubtown Panorama Panthers at 4pm; Khan Tigers vs Vedanta Leopards at 6.30pm
  • August 14: Khan Tigers vs Aussie Mavericks Jaguars at 4pm; Game Changers Lions vs VB Realty Cheetahs at 6.30pm
  • August 15: Eliminator at 4pm; qualifier at 6.30pm
  • August 16: Semi-final 1 at 3pm; semi-final 2 at 5.30pm; final at 8.15pm

The WPL, licensed and managed by Iconik Sports and Events, made its India debut in February 2025 after launching in the UAE. With a growing roster of international players, a broader sponsor base and a new Mumbai venue, Season 4 looks set to push padel further into India’s sporting mainstream.
