Mumbai: Mission Samriddhi is marching into its second year, with financial literacy now part of the drill. HDFC Mutual Fund has completed the first year of Mission Samriddhi, its investor education programme for India’s armed forces, reaching more than 15,000 defence personnel and their families through over 130 financial literacy sessions conducted across the country.
Launched on Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, 2025, the initiative aims to help members of the Army, Navy and Air Force make informed financial decisions through education on mutual funds, financial planning, disciplined investing and long-term wealth creation.
Over the past year, the programme has been conducted at defence establishments across cities including Patiala, Ambala, Agra and Aizawl, creating a nationwide network of financial awareness sessions tailored to the unique needs of defence personnel.
To extend support beyond classroom sessions, HDFC Mutual Fund has also introduced a dedicated missed-call helpline, 73581 12345, exclusively for armed forces personnel. The service provides access to information, assistance and continued learning on mutual funds and investing.
Commenting on the milestone, HDFC Asset Management Company managing director and chief executive officer Navneet Munot said, “The men and women of our armed forces dedicate their lives to protecting the nation, and Mission Samriddhi is our way of supporting them build a financial well-being for the future.”
He added that the response from defence personnel over the past year had reinforced the importance of investor education and financial awareness, and that the company remained committed to expanding the initiative’s reach.
Mission Samriddhi has been designed to promote financial resilience by encouraging disciplined, long-term investing among serving personnel and their families, helping them plan for life beyond active service.
As the programme enters its second year, HDFC Mutual Fund said it plans to expand Mission Samriddhi to more defence establishments across India, strengthening financial awareness and supporting the long-term financial well-being of the country’s armed forces.
