MUMBAI: Raising the bar on its leadership bench, Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD) has appointed Ramita Chaudhuri as marketing director, strengthening its senior management team as the company looks to accelerate brand growth across its portfolio.

The appointment was announced by the company on LinkedIn, where it said Chaudhuri would lead the marketing strategy and growth agenda for its key brands and strategic business initiatives.

Chaudhuri brings more than 26 years of experience spanning strategic marketing, brand building, innovation, consumer engagement and business transformation across the alcoholic beverages and consumer sectors.

She joins ABD from Mahou San Miguel, where she spent more than five years leading growth marketing and global innovation initiatives across Europe and the UK. In her most recent role, she developed end-to-end growth strategies covering beer, non-alcoholic beverages, water and other beverage categories across Europe, the UK and the US.

Before relocating to Spain, Chaudhuri served as chief marketing officer at Mahou India for more than seven years. She led consumer marketing, trade marketing, public relations and key account sales while overseeing the launch and growth of multiple domestic and imported beer brands.

During her tenure, she spearheaded campaigns such as Mahou 5-A-Side Football tournaments, Mahou Canas & Tapas Nights and Dare Devil promotional initiatives. She also helped expand the company’s share of India’s premium beer segment through new packaging, brand activations and integrated marketing programmes.

Earlier in her career, Chaudhuri held leadership positions at Carlsberg Group as market development specialist and at PharmaSecure as director of marketing, where she worked across brand strategy, digital marketing and business development.

An alumna of Indian School of Business’s executive education programme in digital marketing and analytics, Chaudhuri also holds a master’s degree in nuclear physics from Presidency College, Kolkata.

Her appointment comes as Allied Blenders & Distillers continues to strengthen its premiumisation strategy and expand its portfolio, with marketing expected to play an increasingly important role in building consumer engagement and driving long-term brand growth.
