MUMBAI: Time flies at the beach but only if you’re not wearing a Tissot. Swiss watchmaker Tissot has launched its latest global campaign, ‘Welcome to the Tissot Sands’, using a beachside setting to draw parallels between everyday routines and the precision, discipline and consistency that underpin Swiss watchmaking.

Narrated from the perspective of a lifeguard wearing the Tissot Seastar 1000 Quartz, the campaign introduces a cast of regular beachgoers whose carefully repeated habits become metaphors for craftsmanship. From a basketball player perfecting every shot with a Tissot PRX to a sand sculptor meticulously recreating the Matterhorn while wearing the Seastar 1000 Quartz, the film places routine at the centre of its storytelling.

The campaign also features a punctual Swiss ice cream vendor sporting the PRC 100 Solar, a beachgoer timing her tanning sessions every 12 minutes using the same collection, a seashell collector equipped with the Seastar 2000 Professional, and a treasure hunter sweeping the sand with a metal detector while wearing the PR516.

Rather than focusing solely on product features, the campaign highlights the quiet discipline behind everyday rituals, suggesting that consistency and attention to detail are as important in daily life as they are in the craft of watchmaking. The narrative reflects a broader advertising trend where luxury brands increasingly rely on storytelling and lifestyle moments to reinforce their identity instead of traditional product-led messaging.

Tissot said the campaign celebrates not only major achievements but also the small habits and routines that define how people choose to spend their time, positioning precision as a mindset rather than merely a technical feature.

Founded in 1853 in Le Locle, Switzerland, Tissot remains one of the world’s oldest Swiss watchmakers. The brand’s ambassador roster includes Damian Lillard, Enea Bastianini, Primož Roglič, Liu Yifei and Simon Gong, while its long-standing sports partnerships span the NBA, MotoGP and the Tour de France.

With “Welcome to the Tissot Sands”, the watchmaker trades ticking seconds for sun-soaked storytelling, reminding audiences that sometimes the most meaningful measure of time lies in the rituals repeated day after day.
