MUMBAI: Some concerts raise the roof. These ones simply light it up. Candlelight by Live Your City is set to arrive in Bandra on July 10, bringing two candlelit tribute concerts to St. Andrew’s Auditorium that celebrate the music of Arijit Singh, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay.

Known for transforming iconic venues into intimate performance spaces illuminated by thousands of candles, the Candlelight series offers audiences a different take on live music by pairing popular songs with classical instrumental arrangements.

The Mumbai edition will feature two performances by the Flamera Quartet, beginning with Candlelight: Tribute to Arijit Singh at 5.30 pm, followed by Candlelight: Ed Sheeran & Coldplay at 8.30 pm.

The first concert will reinterpret some of Arijit Singh’s best-known songs through a string quartet performance, offering audiences a fresh perspective on melodies that have become synonymous with romance and contemporary Hindi cinema.

Later in the evening, the quartet will perform instrumental renditions of chart-topping hits by Ed Sheeran and Coldplay, bringing together two of the world’s most recognisable contemporary music acts in the series’ signature candlelit setting.

Rather than replicating traditional concerts, the performances are designed to create a more immersive listening experience, where familiar songs are reimagined through classical arrangements while retaining the emotion and character that made them popular.

The concerts also add another cultural offering to Bandra’s thriving live entertainment scene, blending contemporary music with an intimate venue and atmospheric staging to appeal to both classical music enthusiasts and mainstream audiences.

Tickets for both performances are priced from Rs 499, making the concerts accessible to a broad audience seeking an alternative evening out in the city.

With tribute performances continuing to attract audiences globally, the Candlelight series has built its appeal around presenting familiar music in unexpected settings. In Mumbai, that formula will see some of India’s and the world’s most-loved songs performed under the glow of thousands of candles, proving that sometimes the mood is just as memorable as the music.
