MUMBAI: Fever season is back, but PharmEasy wants people to stop playing the guessing game. With its latest monsoon awareness campaign, ‘You Think It’s Viral’, the healthcare platform is urging Indians to think twice before brushing off every fever as “just viral” and delaying proper medical care.

The campaign is built around a simple message. Not every fever is harmless, and not every fever is viral. Citing data from Thyrocare based on comprehensive fever package tests conducted between 2023 and 2025, PharmEasy says one in three fever cases could be linked to illnesses such as dengue, malaria, chikungunya or typhoid. By challenging the common habit of self-diagnosis and self-medication, the company hopes to encourage timely doctor consultations, diagnostic testing and preventive care.

The initiative comes as monsoon-related illnesses begin to rise across India each year. While many people initially treat fever with home remedies or over-the-counter medicines, delayed diagnosis can increase the risk of complications from bacterial and vector-borne diseases. Conditions such as dengue can lead to falling platelet counts and blood pressure, while untreated typhoid may result in serious intestinal complications.

Over the next few months, the campaign will roll out across social media with educational content centred on monsoon health. It will cover fever-related dos and don’ts, prevention, vaccination, timely testing and treatment, alongside information about common seasonal illnesses including dengue, malaria, typhoid and influenza.

The campaign brings together medical professionals, nutrition experts, influencers and user-generated content creators to make reliable health advice easier to understand and share. Doctors including Dr. Sudarshan Lamture and Dr. Pratishtha Shrivastav will explain how different infections can resemble viral fever and why laboratory tests are often essential for accurate diagnosis. Nutrition expert Sakshi will offer guidance on diet and gut health during monsoon illnesses, while creators such as Mohnish D and Piyanshi Mehra will use relatable storytelling to spread awareness.

Alongside the awareness drive, PharmEasy has introduced a range of fever-related healthcare services that can be accessed from home. These include online consultations with general physicians, diagnostic packages featuring free home sample collection and digital reports, and medicine delivery against a valid prescription. The platform has also launched a real-time Fever Watch Dashboard, allowing users to track fever risk levels in their city and stay alert during the monsoon season.

Sharing the rationale behind the campaign, PharmEasy chief business officer Gaurav Verma said, “Every monsoon, we see the same pattern. People dismiss fever as ‘just viral’ and wait it out. But one in three fever cases isn’t just viral. It could be something serious. Dengue, malaria, typhoid and chikungunya all begin with fever, and every day of delay can make recovery harder.”

He added that informed decisions begin with accurate diagnosis rather than assumptions. “We should never guess when it comes to our health. A persistent fever is your body’s way of signalling that something needs attention. The earlier you consult a doctor and get tested, the better your chances of a faster, smoother recovery. Our commitment goes beyond medicines and diagnostics. We also want to help people become more proactive about their health.”

With monsoon illnesses expected to remain a seasonal challenge, PharmEasy’s latest campaign seeks to replace guesswork with timely action, reminding people that when fever lingers, the safest response is not to assume, but to get checked.
