MUMBAI: The next blockbuster may not begin with a script, it could begin with smart capital. CineNow has brought acclaimed media entrepreneur and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur on board as Principal Advisor to its Founding Team, strengthening its leadership as it builds a Rs 1,350 crore structured Film IP investment platform.

The appointment marks a key milestone for the company as it looks to position film and content intellectual property as a credible institutional asset class while developing financial infrastructure tailored to India’s fast-evolving entertainment industry.

In his advisory role, Roy Kapur will provide strategic guidance on content investment opportunities, industry partnerships, platform expansion and long-term value creation, helping shape CineNow’s next phase of growth.

The move comes at a time when India’s media and entertainment sector is undergoing rapid transformation, fuelled by expanding digital audiences, multiple distribution platforms and the growing commercial value of intellectual property. As content increasingly becomes a global asset, companies are exploring new models to attract institutional capital into entertainment.

Commenting on the development, CineNow chairman and managing director Rohit Dalmia said the industry is entering a defining decade where consumption is accelerating and intellectual property is emerging as a powerful long-term value creator. He added that while the opportunity is expanding, the financial ecosystem supporting content remains underdeveloped, with CineNow aiming to bridge that gap through transparency, governance and disciplined investment frameworks.

Roy Kapur said India’s entertainment industry is entering an unprecedented growth phase, driven by expanding audiences and evolving distribution models. He noted that innovative and well-governed capital solutions would play an increasingly important role in unlocking the sector’s future potential and described CineNow as a platform operating at the intersection of content, capital and technology.

Widely regarded as one of India’s most influential media executives, Roy Kapur brings decades of experience across content creation, studio leadership and media entrepreneurship. His expertise in content economics, audience behaviour and industry transformation is expected to support CineNow’s engagement with creators, producers, investors and rights holders as it expands its presence in India’s entertainment investment landscape.
