Zomato enters enterprise expenses with food reimbursements feature

MUMBAI: No more chasing receipts, Zomato wants lunch to arrive before the paperwork does. The food delivery platform is taking a bite out of corporate expense management with a new enterprise offering that aims to simplify business meal reimbursements. Zomato has expanded its enterprise services portfolio with the launch of ‘Food Reimbursements’, a new feature under Zomato for Enterprise designed to digitise and automate the way companies manage business meal expenses.
The offering replaces the conventional reimbursement process, where employees pay for work-related meals upfront before submitting expense claims. Instead, organisations can allocate meal budgets through an enterprise dashboard, with eligible orders billed directly to the company.
The launch was announced through a tongue-in-cheek print advertisement headlined, “This ad was approved faster than your food reimbursements,” humorously claiming the creative cleared “two legal teams, one CEO, two brand managers and one very finicky creative director” before introducing the product.
According to the company, the service is built around three core features: a consolidated monthly invoice for employers, automated daily meal budget allocation by managers and zero out-of-pocket spending for employees on eligible business meals.
The move marks another step in Zomato’s expansion beyond its consumer food delivery business as it builds out Zomato for Enterprise, targeting corporate clients with workplace-focused solutions.
By positioning the product as an HR and finance tool rather than a consumer feature, Zomato is tapping into the growing enterprise software market, where automation, digital workflows and employee convenience are becoming key priorities for businesses.
