Insurance veteran expands role to lead COO strategy, governance and business transformation initiatives
NEW DELHI: Axis Max Life Insurance Limited has appointed Ruchita Jain as VP, head of strategy, portfolio & compliance under the chief operating officer (COO) function, expanding her leadership responsibilities to oversee strategic initiatives, governance and business transformation.
Jain announced her new role through a LinkedIn post, describing the appointment as a natural progression of her 15-year journey in customer insights, research, customer experience and business strategy.
“I’ve taken on a new role as vice president, head, strategy, portfolio & compliance under the COO function at Axis Max Life Insurance. This is not a change of direction. It’s a deepening of purpose,” she wrote.
In her new position, Jain will lead the COO’s strategic projects, oversee governance frameworks, manage business priorities end to end and ensure that strategic initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes.
Jain joined Axis Max Life Insurance more than nine years ago and has held several leadership positions across customer insights and customer experience. Before her latest elevation, she served as vp, head customer insights, where she led customer intelligence initiatives to strengthen decision-making and enhance customer-centric strategies.
Earlier, she was assistant vice president, leading customer insight and consumer behaviour programmes, following her tenure at Max Life Insurance where she progressed through roles including chief manager – customer insights, senior manager, and manager, customer marketing and insights.
During her career at the insurer, Jain has played a key role in building customer-focused frameworks, including Net Promoter Score (NPS) measurement systems, research platforms such as IPQ and IRIS, customer marketing programmes and the company’s Customer Obsession initiative. She has also managed board deliverables and supported strategic decision-making through consumer insights.
Before entering the insurance sector, Jain worked as project director at Kantar TNS, where she led quantitative market research projects, advised clients on marketing and branding strategies, and managed cross-functional research programmes. She began her professional career as a software engineer at Aricent Technologies, working on WiMAX and 3G simulated test environments.
An MBA in Marketing from FORE School of Management, Jain said the new assignment reflects her long-standing commitment to putting customers at the centre of business decisions.
“The customer has always been my north star. Now I get to build the road that leads there,” she said.
With Jain taking charge of strategy, portfolio and compliance under the COO function, Axis Max Life Insurance is expected to further strengthen strategic execution, governance and customer-led transformation across its operations.
