Sony Sports unveils five language coverage for India England white ball tour

Eight match series from 1 July features Kannada debut and Extraaa Innings return.

MUMBAI: Pitch perfect and language rich, Sony Sports is bowling out barriers before the first ball is even bowled. Sony Sports Network has unveiled its broadcast plans for India’s white-ball tour of England 2026, promising live coverage of all eight matches across five languages from 1 to 19 July, while introducing dedicated Kannada commentary for the first time on an India tour of England.

The multi-format series comprises five T20 Internationals followed by three One-Day Internationals, with coverage available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, as the broadcaster expands its regional sports offering.

Adding to the build-up, Sony Sports is reviving its long-running cricket show Extraaa Innings, bringing together a panel of former cricketers and presenters to deliver match previews, analysis and expert insights throughout the tour.

Sony Sports Network also brings back one of the longest running cricket shows, Extraaa Innings, which will highlight some of the biggest names in cricket providing their expert analysis and commentary for the series.

The English commentary team for the T20Is features Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Graeme Swann and Sanjana Ganesan, while Ambati Rayudu joins Shastri and Swann for the ODI leg. Regional language feeds will include former internationals and domestic stars such as Ajay Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, WV Raman, KS Bharat, Arun Karthik, Venkatapathy Raju and others.

On the field, India arrive with a blend of emerging talent and seasoned campaigners. Shreyas Iyer will captain the T20I side with Tilak Varma as vice-captain, leading a squad featuring Abhishek Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Prince Yadav and teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The ODI squad sees the return of Virat Kohli after recovering from a hamstring injury, alongside Rohit Sharma and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan have been named as wicketkeeping options, while the bowling attack will feature Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana and Gurnoor Brar.

The series begins with the first T20I on 1 July at 10 pm, while the ODI leg starts on 14 July at 3.30 pm. Matches will be broadcast across Sony Sports Ten 1, Sony Sports Ten 3, Sony Sports Ten 4, Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony Max, with the T20Is also airing on Sony Max.

With multilingual coverage, a star-studded expert panel and the return of Extraaa Innings, Sony Sports is looking to broaden the appeal of one of the year’s biggest bilateral cricket contests as India and England renew their white-ball rivalry.
