NOIDA: When words take the mic, even news finds its rhythm. Live Times has announced the launch of its flagship weekly programme Kavivar, a new format that blends poetry, satire and public debate into a single televised offering.

The one-hour show will air every Saturday at 7:00 PM, with repeat telecasts on Sunday at 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM, positioning itself as a weekend staple for viewers seeking a more reflective take on current affairs.

Hosted by poet, author and performer Anamika Jain Amber, Kavivar brings together poets from across India to interpret contemporary political and social issues through verse, satire and dialogue. The channel says the aim is to create a space where literature meets journalism in a more accessible and engaging form.

The programme is structured into three segments. The first, Vaar-Palatvaar, features poetic exchanges and counterpoints on major public issues. The second, Mann Ki Baat, offers reflective solo performances where poets present personal perspectives or original compositions on national themes. The third segment, Rapid Shaayar, brings a faster, interactive format featuring spontaneous poetry, humour and audience engagement.

Speaking at the launch, Anamika Jain Amber said poetry has long been one of India’s most powerful forms of expression and the show aims to bring it into contemporary public conversation. She said the goal is to make audiences think, smile and engage more deeply with national issues through the “timeless power of poetry”.

Live Times founder and CEO Dilip Singh said the programme is designed to bridge journalism and artistic expression. He noted that while news explains events, poetry can help audiences understand their deeper meaning, adding that Kavivar brings together facts, emotion and reflection in one shared space.

The show is part of Live Times’ wider push to innovate content formats that go beyond traditional news presentation. With Kavivar, the network is aiming to build a platform where poets, thinkers and citizens can contribute to public discourse in a more creative and engaging way.

As it prepares for its debut, Kavivar is positioning itself as an experiment in how storytelling, satire and journalism can share the same stage without losing their individual voices.
