Pizza Hut India turns 30, gives away gifts worth Rs 30 crore
Three decades after opening its first restaurant in Bengaluru, the American pizza chain is thanking Indian customers with a month-long celebration of freebies
GURUGRAM: Pizza Hut India is marking 30 years in the country the only way a pizza chain knows how: with free food and a lot of it. To celebrate three decades since it first opened in Bengaluru in June 1996, the brand has launched a month-long customer giveaway with gifts worth Rs 30 crore up for grabs.
From now until 30 June 2026, customers ordering across dine-in, delivery and aggregator platforms will receive a complimentary gift on reaching a select minimum order value. The freebies span some of Pizza Hut’s most popular menu items, including Classic Breadstix, Indi Cheesy Pocket, Choco Volcano and Sprinkled Fries.
The celebration will be backed by a wave of activity across social media and digital platforms throughout the month.
Manish Guptaa, chief marketing officer of Pizza Hut India, said the milestone was less about the numbers and more about the moments. “First dates, family dinners, late-night orders, birthday celebrations — Pizza Hut has had the privilege of being part of all of it, and that’s entirely because of our customers,” he said. “This month is our thank you.”
The numbers behind those moments are not modest. Pizza Hut is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands and operates more than 18,000 restaurants across more than 100 countries. In India, it was the first international restaurant chain to pioneer the pizza category when it arrived in 1996. It has since been named the most trusted food service brand by ET Brand Equity 13 times, earned a place among India’s 70 Most Trusted Power Brands, and been ranked the third most trusted brand in the Asia-Pacific region by Campaign Asia.
Thirty years, millions of pizzas, and now Rs 30 crore worth of thank-yous. Not a bad way to blow out the candles.
