Arpita Arya returns to News18 India for primetime role
Anchor brings over a decade of TV news experience across leading networks.
MUMBAI: Looks like the primetime chessboard has gained another familiar player. Popular television anchor Arpita Arya has joined News18 India, marking a return to the Network18 fold as the Hindi news channel continues to strengthen its primetime line-up. A well-known face in Hindi television journalism, Arya brings more than a decade of experience across some of the country’s leading news networks, including Aaj Tak and News18 India. Her move adds another experienced voice to an increasingly competitive news broadcasting landscape.
Arya’s television journey began with KTV in Kanpur, before she went on to work with channels such as APN and News Express, steadily building a reputation for her engaging presentation style and strong connect with viewers.
This marks her second stint with Network18. During her earlier tenure with News18 India, she fronted several popular programmes, including Mudda Garam Hai, Khabar Pakki Hai, Sau Baat Ki Ek Baat and Hum To Poochhenge, becoming a familiar presence for the channel’s audience.
Her return comes at a time when news broadcasters are increasingly investing in recognisable on-screen talent as they compete for viewer attention in a fragmented media environment. With audience loyalty often closely tied to anchor-led programming, experienced presenters continue to play a critical role in shaping channel identity and engagement.
For News18 India, Arya’s homecoming adds a seasoned broadcaster with deep experience in Hindi news television and a track record of handling high-profile primetime programming.
As the battle for viewers intensifies across television and digital platforms alike, familiar faces remain one of the most valuable currencies in the news business—and News18 India has just welcomed one back into the fold.
