MUMBAI: Ten years in, and One Life Studios is not just celebrating a milestone, it is scripting a bigger global act. The Indian independent media company, which operates across production, acquisition, distribution and syndication, has marked its 10th anniversary with a fresh push into international markets, a growing content catalogue and a major expansion into short-form storytelling.

Over the past decade, the studio says it has built a portfolio of more than 750 premium Indian titles, while steadily expanding its global footprint through new distribution and acquisition partnerships across multiple regions.

A key highlight of its latest phase of growth is the acquisition of more than 500 Indian microdramas for worldwide distribution. The company says the move positions it among the largest distributors in the emerging vertical short-form content space, targeting mobile-first audiences across global platforms.

The company is also preparing to unveil a new original animation intellectual property at MIPJunior, signalling further diversification of its content slate.

Founder and chief storyteller Siddharth Kumar Tewary said the journey reflects a decade of creative expansion and global storytelling ambition.

“One Life Studios consistently delivers world-class premium storytelling that resonates across cultures,” said Tewary. He added that the company is focused on scaling its international reach while bringing Indian storytelling to new global audiences through formats such as microdramas.

The syndication and distribution strategy is being led by Shashank Singh, with recent international licensing deals including drama series such as Dhruv Tara in Vietnam through IMC-TV Today, and historical titles including Porus and Chandragupta Maurya in Ghana.

The company’s content slate includes widely recognised productions such as Porus, RadhaKrishn, Chandragupta Maurya and Escaype Live, many of which have earned awards and international recognition. Its programming has reportedly received more than 65 industry accolades across India and overseas markets.

Recent international recognition includes awards for Dhruv Tara at the Vietnam Ngôi Sao Xanh Awards, where it was named Most Favorite Foreign Film, with lead actors also receiving acting honours.

As part of its global expansion strategy, the company has appointed MJ Sorenson of MJ Global Communications to lead international communications and marketing efforts. The agency has worked with several global media organisations across Asia, North America and Europe.

As it enters its second decade, One Life Studios is positioning itself more firmly in the global entertainment ecosystem, betting on scalable content formats, international partnerships and a widening digital-first audience base.

The company’s next chapter appears focused not just on telling stories, but on ensuring those stories travel further than ever before.
