Vihaan plants 100 more trees on World Environment Day, crossing 500-mark
Focus shifts from planting to survival as green cover grows across the campus
AHMEDABAD: Putting down deeper roots for a greener future, Vihaan Clean & Green Tech marked World Environment Day 2026 with the plantation of 100 new trees at its campus, reinforcing its long-term commitment to environmental sustainability.
The plantation drive was conducted in the presence of officials from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board, including V. D. Chaudhari and N. P. Chaudhari. While tree-planting campaigns are often associated with symbolic gestures, Vihaan’s latest initiative highlighted a different approach, one centred on nurturing trees long after they are planted.
The company said it had planted nearly 400 trees during the previous year and spent the following months monitoring and caring for the saplings. Although 31 trees could not be sustained despite continued efforts, the vast majority survived and are now growing into mature trees that contribute to the site’s expanding green ecosystem.
Following the latest plantation drive, the campus is home to more than 500 large trees. The company added that several smaller trees and saplings spread across the facility have not been formally counted, pushing the overall green cover to well beyond 1,000 trees.
Speaking at the event, Vihaan Clean & Green Tech managing director Amit Badlani said, “Environmental stewardship does not end with planting a sapling. The true measure of success lies in ensuring that the tree survives and thrives. At Vihaan, we believe sustainability is a year-round responsibility, and we are proud to see our green initiatives translating into a lasting environmental impact.”
The event also served as a showcase for the company’s broader sustainability agenda. Alongside expanding its green cover, Vihaan continues to focus on wastewater recycling, renewable energy adoption, resource recovery and circular economy practices across its operations.
As environmental challenges increasingly demand action from industry, the company believes businesses have a crucial role to play in balancing economic development with ecological responsibility.
