MUMBAI: While lehengas sparkle and sherwanis steal the spotlight, the humble suitcase has often been left waiting at the baggage carousel of wedding planning. Safari Industries and Manyavar are now giving it a starring role. The luggage maker and ethnic wear giant have partnered to launch “Shaadi Ka Safar”, a wedding-focused luggage collection aimed at transforming travel gear from a functional afterthought into a meaningful part of modern Indian celebrations.

The collaboration blends Safari’s expertise in contemporary luggage design with Manyavar’s deep understanding of India’s wedding culture, creating a range designed for destination weddings, bridal trousseaus, gifting occasions and newlyweds embarking on their first journeys together.

The move taps into a wedding economy where almost every detail from jewellery and décor to mithai boxes and personalised gifts is carefully curated. Yet luggage, despite carrying everything from bridal lehengas and sherwanis to wedding essentials, has largely escaped the spotlight.

Positioned at the intersection of style, celebration and practicality, the collection seeks to fill that gap by offering luggage that is as occasion-ready as the wedding wardrobe it carries.

To build buzz around the launch, the brands have lined up a multi-channel campaign spanning editorial outreach, wedding and fashion storytelling, influencer content and experiential activations. Dancer and actress Mukti Mohan and her husband, actor Kunal Thakur, will front a content-led campaign designed to showcase the collection’s role in contemporary wedding journeys.

The partnership also signals how brands are increasingly looking beyond their traditional categories to capture a larger share of India’s booming wedding market. For Manyavar, it extends the celebration beyond apparel, while for Safari, it opens a new avenue within the milestone-driven gifting and travel segment.
